I am going on a vacation tomorrow, but we should have wi-fi at the hotel so I will be able to post my review. And I stuffed my Kindle with at least 60 ebooks so (hopefully) at least one will fit the criteria for the next week.

In the big pile of cliched historical romance novels, Suddenly You stands out with:
+ Mature 30-year-old heroine who knows what she wants
+ Considerate hero
+ None of them are nobles
+ Passionate affair
+ Relationship that grows from instant attraction into love trough time
+ The couple works trough their differences and problems and solve them
Lisa Kleypas proves once again why she is one of my favorite romance authors. If you love historical romance and you haven't read Suddenly You - what are you waiting for? ;)

I really enjoy this series and it's always a fun, light read with plenty of humor and crazy cons. I do find myself wishing that we'd get more character development from Nick but I think at this point I'll just have to accept that it isn't going to happen and enjoy this book for what it is. A fun, entertaining tale with lots of action, zany characters and exotic locations. I like that Nick and Kate are really finding their place as a team both personally and professionally. Kate is stepping more and more into the gray area as she works with Nick to put the bad guys behind bars and that is always interesting. While we still don't get a great feel for Nick's character we did get to see a glimpse of a more serious side to him in this installment. Overall, very entertaining and just what I expected when I cracked this book open. Looking forward to more Nick, Kate and the rest of the crew.

I am a big fan now of Ellery Adams thanks to Tantor Media. I went into book one with no expectations except to listen and write an honest review. From the first book until now, I am loving this cozy mystery.
I was a little concerned with this installment since there now is a co-author. Not to fear, Molly Appleby, her mother Clair, and her new husband are front and center. Molly and Matt are honeymooning in England where they spend some time with Molly’s great aunt in a quaint village. As fate would have it Molly stumbles upon a murder thanks to a cat. Molly is soon pulled into the investigation. The book does take the reader back and forth to 1851 until present day. I loved the history aspect of the book and even more loved her past and present are combined to solve a mystery.
The setting in this book was so detailed that this reader found herself sitting in a small countryside café drinking tea. Molly is such a strong character but is not overbearing. Matt supports Molly in anything that she does even when she does get herself wrapped up in murder. This book could easily be a stand a lone, but I recommend starting at the beginning in order to fully understand and fall in love with these characters.
Kudos to Ms. Adams, Andi Arndt (the narrator) and Tantor Media for offering me this book in exchange for an honest review.

There is just something different about the way Carolyn Crane writes and I enjoy it. It seems that so many books I read rely on obvious tropes, Carolyn does something different. Her heroes while still alpha and tough have intellectual skills that they use more than their physical abilities and I love it!
This book centers around Peter who uses linguistics to track down the bad guys. Because of this the word choice and focus on what the characters are really saying takes a deeper meaning. Word choice is used to understand a character's motivation, past experience and by extension human nature as a whole.
The second thing I loved about this story is the ambiguity in the characters. There was a lot of gray and very rarely were things black and white. The heroes didn't always act like the good guys and the people you thought were the bad guys weren't always acting like bad guys. Imagine that people who weren't one or the other but differed depending on the situation and the motivation. It made this book deliciously complicated and intriguing.
The love story between Laney and Peter also worked for me. They connected through their love of language and the fact that they were both lonely and lacking real connections in their lives. I believed it and couldn't help but root for them to have a happy ending even when I wasn't sure how they would manage it.
Overall, plenty of action, suspense, romance all wrapped up with very complex characters in a unique story! I look forward to the next book in the series.

If The Mage's Daughter was a first book in a series I would say The Nine Kingdom series was not for me. It was too boring with too much character development and not enough adventure.
But its just the usual second-book-in-series sindrom. And the fact that Miach's brother joined the quest gives me hope. I love sibling rivalry and banter. I missed Adhemar from first book so much in second one. (Just don't let Miach and Morgan hear me.)
To sum it up, The Mage's Daughter gives us a lot of hidtory and development for both main character. And focuses much more on romance. Not bad but boring at times. Hopefully the next book will be back to the usual.

How it fits second book in series
I am not a big cozy mystery reader, but I stumbled across this series needing a book with food on the cover for a challenge, ... Although I read this particular book because it had death in the title .....
However, I didn't just read it because it helps me out in challenges, I came back to the series because I truly enjoyed the previous books ... I really enjoy all the characters Haley, her kids, her brother, and all of her Besty's, are all very enjoyable ... There are also a lot of fun recipes throughout the book, that would inspire me to cook, if I was somebody that actually enjoy cooking ..... And best of all the mysteries are good and keep you guessing until the end, yes they are light, and can be a little silly, and you kind of have to suspend some belief, but still quite enjoyable read ....

This was such an emotional read and I was heavily engrossed after chapter one. From the beginning of the book, this reader immediately knew how the end was going to play.
Jess was tired and emotionally drained from being a military bride. Four years later the inevitable happened, and Jess was told that Jeff had perished In Afghanistan. Jess decided to move back to her hometown and began running her parents shop.
Surrounded by family and friends, Jess slowly begins the healing process. She never wanted to love again until Ty came into the picture. Ty is also returning to their hometown with a broken heart. However, Ty convinces her to take a chance on him, even though he is also in the military. Ty and Jess begin to plan for the future but fate has different plans.
Jess finds out that Jeff really isn’t dead but has escaped captivity and is being hidden by an Afghan woman. Jeff and Rabia are beginning to fall in love. The love triangle in this book was emotional and was difficult to decide who to root for.
Both Rabia and Jess are strong characters and bring raw emotions into the picture. The One Eyed Jacks made a quick appearance, which gives the book the flavor of the series.

4.5 Stars! I loved this book although I had a few issues with it. However they were pretty minor compared to the things I loved about it. This was my second favorite of the series after Jim and Noelle's book Midnight Action. There was plenty of action, suspense and lots of emotion. The emotion came from D's background and from Sully and Liam. In fact Sully and Liam gutted me in this book and I can't wait to read their book.

I always enjoy reading historical romances, and this one certainly did not disappoint. A major difference in “From This Moment is the location. The backdrop is the building of the first subway system in Boston. Romulus White has wanted Stella West to work for his magazine for three years. Stella is an artist, but her mind is distracted looking for the person who killed her sister Gwendolyn. Evelyn, who is Romulus cousin and co-owner of the magazine reunites with her estranged husband Clyde. When Clyde shows up working on the subway, Evelyn is determined to stay away from him. When an accident occurs, Clyde and Evelyn come back together.
I loved all of the characters. Romulus and Stella were both stubborn, and the author did an excellent job in using this to her advantage. Gwendolyn’s spirit was well played, and her parents as secondary characters really brought out the personalities of both Stella and Gwendolyn. The suspense began building up from the beginning of the book until the end. I also didn’t realize that this was book 2 of a series. Obviously, this could be read as a stand-alone. I am definitely going to read more from this author and narrator.
Thanks to Tantor for giving me this audio in exchange for a honest review.

But I finished my book and will post review later tonight. Hope it's not too late.

Book

How it fits first book in the series
This was my first book by this author, but it wasn't my last, because I immediately read the second book in the series after reading this ....
This book follows Nolan and Reid throughout all four years of high school ..... It is a friends to lovers story, with nolan been the strong sweet girl and reid not always been a good guy, in fact at times I really did not like him throughout this book .... I did like their journey and found it very realistic ....
A couple of things I really really liked about this book and the next book, that you don't find enough in this genre ....
Nolan had amazing girlfriend, they were so there for her every step of the way, never stabbed each other in the back, always there to pick each other up, got a love that!
Secondly fabulous parents and this book, for both of the kids, especially Buck everyone deserves a father like him ....

How it Fits: Historical

Marriage of convenience is one of my favorite classic romance trope and Do You Want to Start a Scandal did not disappoint in that regard. Although we never get to actual marriage and they fall in love while being engaged, the magic of the romance and a good love story was there.
The humor and quirkiness I am used to expect from Tessa Dare was also there in abundance. There is a scene when heroine while investigating a mystery, makes "unwanted romantic advances toward a local widow", that had me in tears. :)
There were some small things that bothered me.
Like how untidy the heroine was. Clothes in piles all around the room. Yuck. Not charming at all.
And that the author decided to use word 'crisis' instead of word 'orgasm'. Got me confused every time.
Do You Want to Start a Scandal was great historical romance with a dash of humor and mystery to make it even better. Recommended if you are the fan of the genre.

Review: Wow this one had a really high body count and it also dealt with gang rapes. It also had more than one villain. So while I enjoyed the main characters and Karen Rose always writes a really good book this one was really violent and at times tough to read.

Nalini Singh what happened? I though we had a deal - you deliver a hot Psy+shifter pairing and I enjoy your series. Honestly I think the world was enough complex without adding this new perspective about The Forgotten section of the Psy and all the stuff about them.
Blaze of Memory was not bad, but it was not what I expected and it felt like a bump in a smooth story-line of this series.

Moving right along to book 24 in the series. By now, I should be getting extremely tired of this series; that is far from the case. Once I finish an In Death book, I am always wanting more. This installment does have Eve and Roarke at odds with each other. This behavior is becoming more apparent with these two. When the reader thinks that all is lost, Eve and Roarke take out their aggression's either on drones or on each other. After the sizzle ends, they have wild sex and their world is turned upright once again.
When an innocent teacher winds up dead, Eve is immediately to the rescue. This time she may need to uncover what just seems like lost ends. Craig Foster winds up dead after eating is lunch laced with deadly ricin. Eve is even more perplexed when another body shows up.
As usual, I loved the audio narrated by Susan Ericksen.

It's hard to say a book about a school shooting was good .... But this was well done ....
It was told from four different points of view, the shooters sister and her girlfriend who are in the auditorium during the beginning of the shooting ..... Both the other points of you were told from characters that were not in the auditorium at the time of the shooting .... I'll very courageous, strong, and unselfish everyone acted in the situation was humbling ...
It is a shame that schools are not safe for our kids, this is a trend I surely hope does end soon ...
PS: my AutoCorrect was going crazy throughout this entire thing, so I just at some point stop caring, LOL!

How it fits stand alone
This book wasn't exactly what I thought it was going to be, but it still was very interesting ... I guess the movie rights have already been sold, and I can definitely see this as a movie .....
A private plane crashes into the Atlantic Ocean, with several prominent people on board... Was it an accident? Was it sabotage? Was it terrorism? The media is all over this, especially because one of the people on the plane owned a television news station .... Scott not only survived the crash, but also saves the life of the four-year-old son of the owner of the news television station ..... So how will this play out, is he a hero? Is he the villain? This book really focused on the media, and how nothing is simple anymore, we need to make something out of everything, even if there isn't something there ... I read several reviews that did not care for the ending, however I felt the ending was perfect, it really to me put the period at the end of the sentence for this book, I would definitely read it, it is not a gripping psychological thriller, however it is a very interesting read .....
