Sinner's Revenge (Sinner's Creed, #2) by Kim Jones
3 Stars
Completed 9/20/16

This reader envisioned this book to be a continuation of Sinner’s Creed. The premise was centered around the death of Dirk from book one. However, this could have easily been a stand alone book. Shady has vowed for revenge against those who killed his brother. In order to exact revenge, Shady, now known as Zeke lands a job as a web designer in order to be closer to the MC gang that killed Dirk. Of course, a woman had to come into the picture. Diem knew that Zeke, aka Shady, was not who proposed to be yet she still fell hard for him.

Diem has some secrets of her own. The relationship starts off extremely rocky and a bit strange. The fighting and bickering between the two at times was actually amusing and refreshing to see that couples actually do get into heated battles rather than loving bliss.

At times, I found this book to be very slow and extremely dark. I was not crazy about the first book, and this one is much better. Ms. Jones did an excellent job in getting the readers to better understand the intricacies and brotherhood of the motorcycle club.

Thanks to Tantor Media for supplying this audio in exchange for an honest review.

Loose and Easy (Steele Street, #9) by Tara Janzen
Book: Loose and Easy
How it Fits: Yellow Cover
Date Read: 9/18
Rating: 3 Stars
Review: I loved the last few books in this series but this one just didn't quite work for me. It was just really slow and nothing really happened for a good portion of the book. This book also introduced new characters and it took quite a while for the set-up. This book centered around Johnny and he was connected to Steele Street, the police (Loretta) and a Denver gang. There was a lot of connections but I just didn't feel them. Then there was Esme who Johnny knew in high school and her mission to get her dad out of trouble (which I also didn't really connect with). I did like that it was Esme who was skirting the law instead of Johnny when back in high school it was the opposite. The suspense of this story was really predictable and the romance really didn't "kick in" until the very last part of the book.

The part of this book I liked the most was the introduction of Dax who the next book is about and of course the lead in to the mission that General Grant gave Dylan and Christian. Most of the Steele Street gang was absent from this book.

So if you're a fan of the series this one is worth reading but it isn't my favorite and I wouldn't start with it. I'm looking forward to the last 2 books in the series though.

Book Game (Jasper Dent, #2) by Barry Lyga 9/19⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
How it fits second book in the series
I really like the first book in the series, but WOW this book I absolutely loved!
If you are a fan of a good psychological thriller, I would strongly recommend this .... not sure if I would call a young adult, it is pretty gruesome and there is some very disturbing subject matter, but it is SO good ...
Jasper is the son of eight and Foriest serial killer, he is in a constant struggle between good and evil .. always trying to prove that killer instinct is not within him ...
This book ends with a huge cliffhanger, and I am already done with the third book, once again if you like this kind of book, I strongly recommend!

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) Week 10: Spot 82
Irresistible (Buchanans, #2) by Susan Mallery
How it Fits: #2 in Buchanans series
Date Read: 20th September
Rating: 3.5 stars

The first book in Buchanans series I read 4 years ago and forgot to add the sequel to my TBR. But as I looked to find #2 book in series that has food on the cover (combining tasks for two challenges) I stumbled into it and thought - why not.

Irresistible was nicely written and easy to read. Although the MCs went trough some tough times, don't expect that there will be tear-jerking scenes. Only warm and fuzzy feeling as everything falls in place and HEA conquers all.

Side characters are the selling points of this series. I loved MCs elderly neighbor and wish I will be so vivacious in that age. My only regret is that Elissa's child wasn't used to add more cuteness to the story. Since she was a single mother, I expected her child to take bigger part in the plot.

Let's hope it will not take me another 4 years until I read the next book and another Buchanan gets his HEA. :)

Review: This series just gets better and better. I loved this book. It had action, plenty of humor, suspense and the characters just keep growing. I love that we get to see more to Roland then him just being all bad. If I had any complaints which I don't I wish we'd seen more of Curran as an individual and not just as a supporting character to Kate. Couldn't put it down and I'll definitely read it again.

How it fits second book in the series
I really enjoyed this book, and I'm not even a coffee drinker ....
Although I might have enjoyed it more if I was a coffee person, there was a A lot about making coffee and different types of coffee, and all that .... usually in a cozy mystery I enjoy the characters more than the mystery, but I must say I think I enjoy the mystery more than the characters in this book ... not that I didn't like the characters, but I did really enjoy the mystery, it really kept me guessing and engaged throughout the entire book ....

This is a reread for me. I just absolutely love this series. I have read this book every year since 2012. I always feel like I am going back to meeting old friends. Parker and her brother lost their parents in an automobile accident. Her parents were extremely well off and left their mansion and all of their possessions to their two children. Parker's brother was already an established attorney, and Parker wanted to put the house and the elaborate grounds to good use. She decided to open up her house for weddings. Her three best friends were also asked to work with her. Each woman brought her own special talent and became very successful. The women lived on the property and shared everything together. Growing up, the girls were always at Parker's so this time together brought back special memories.

I definitely recommend this series, especially if you are a Nora Roberts fan.

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) Week 11: Spot 91
The Secret Dreamworld of A Shopaholic (Shopaholic, #1) by Sophie Kinsella
How it Fits: #1 in series
Date Read: 26th September
Rating: 3.5 stars

This is one of those times when I watched the movie before I read the book. The movie Confessions of a Shopaholic was not bad, but was not something memorable either. The classic romantic comedy.
At the beginning it seemed that the book will be the same, if not even shallower and that Becky will get one of those TSTL medals from me, but... As Becky's life unraveled in front of me, The Secret Dreamworld of A Shopaholic transformed into a study of a serious addiction. Maybe shopping seems more harmless then drugs, alcohol or even smoking, but it can be disastrous all the same.

There was nothing funny in The Secret Dreamworld of A Shopaholic , but that's OK with me. I'm not even sure if Sophie Kinsella wanted it to be funny. Anyway, for me, this book is more like a warning. A precautionary tale of sorts.

Easy and quick read. And like a train wreck you can't seem to look away although the heroine makes so many bad decisions you just want to kill her and make everyone's life simpler and easier.

I'll probably read the sequel too.
