‘It’s a Mystery Podcast Misty Moors, Queers, and Frogs
A couple of weeks back, I had a lovely chat with fellow author, , for her It’s a Mystery podcast. We talked about the Dark Peakbooks, genre, the (in)visibility of queer characters in mainstream crime, and, um…frogs[image error]
The interview has now been postedat her blog, where you can listen to it or download it, and there’s also a video of the recording over on .

Old Friends/New Friends UK BSB Event Blog
Yes, UK-based LesFicloving types, it’s just two weeks now till the annual event in Nottingham. The weekendbash will be held 4th-5th June at the Waterstones store in the centre of the city. Loads of the UK BSB crowd will be there chatting on panels, reading from their latest releases, and generally getting up to mischief. The event is completely free, the books are usually good and cheap (and can be signed by the author of your choice!), and there’s the opportunity to chat about the pub...

Double Goldie Nod for the ‘Dark Peak Books
Choosing between your books is a bit like asking a mum to pick her favourite kid, so when it came to this year’s Goldie awards, I thought“to hell with it and submitted the first two Dark Peak books No Good Reason and Cold to the Touch into the Mystery category. I had hoped that one might sneak through to the finals, but found out early this week that both had made their way onto the :-)
The winnerswill be announcedduring the conference, which will be...

‘Snowbound Audio Book Out Now!
The brand, spanking new audio book of Snowbound is now available to buy at , , and, with the perfectly named Lesley Parkin narrating. Thanks to my day job,I’ve only had the chance to listen to the online preview, so all I can tell you is that Mac sounds like a cross between my dad, Peter Kay, and some bloke from dahn t’pit, and that Sam sounds rather sweet. You can pick up a copy free with an Audible trial, and it’s probably worth a listen just to see how many differe...

Cover and Blurb for ‘A Quiet Death (Dark Peak #3)
Given that the release date for A Quiet Death, the third book in the Dark Peak series, isn’t till January, 2017, I’ve been sitting on its cover and its blurbfor a little while now. However, Amazon and GoodReads have both bloody scooped me this week, so it seemed daft not to share.
The blurb contains very mild spoilers for folks who’ve not read Cold to the Touch (book 2!)
That’s the front! The back will read a little (well, exactly) like this:
In book three in the Dark Peak series, things are...

‘No Good Reason: Lambda Finalist for Lesbian Mystery
The finalists for the 28th Annual Lambda Literary Awards were announced on 8th March. I was merrily sneaking a chicken butty in the ambulance cab when I spotted rather a lot of excitement on my Facebook news feed. I hadn’t done anything particularly thrillingthat week posted a snow picture, and one of my cat sat on my notepad so it was all a little befuddling till I opened a PM and realised what was going on.
No Good Reason was named as a finalist in the Lesbian Mystery category. And yes,...

‘Snowbound: The Audio Book, It’s Actually Happening!
Oh yes! For those of you who enjoy reading with your ears, my 2011 début, , will be coming out as an audio book at some point in the hopefully not too distant future. It will have a British narrator and it’s definitely going to happen, but otherwise, I can’t tell you too much else right now. I have no idea whether said narrator will attempt a Peak Districty-area-typeaccent, but I have asked that “Kinder Scout rhyme with “tinder and not “minder!
I’ve always wondered why my book...

Lesbian Book Club Interview
If you’ve ever wonderedwhat a slightly night-shift hungover, sore-throaty northern English woman sounds like, then you can listen along to a new interview I recorded last week for Clare Lydon’s Lesbian Book Club podcast.
We managed to cover all the essentials in the 45 minute interview falling into bogs, brew and bicciebingo, my hopeless sense of direction, midnight feasts, and books, lots about the books :-)
You can listen or download at link.
