Author Stands on Own Cover

We were out walking on Stanage Edge yesterday and I knew the cover shot from No Good Reason had been taken somewhere along this route. My missus has a far better eye for this kind of thing and made me stand on a pillar I was absolutely certain WAS NOT THE ONE. Very happy to admit that I was wrong

Also happy to say that there were no unconscious kidnap vics at any point on the way along, and that there were quite a few climbers dangling precariously from the rocks.

Poor San, clambering...

Marina That's brilliant! I must say, I recognised it myself from a few visits lol.

Cari Hunter I absolutely didn't recognise it because I am rubbish, but I do as I'm told so I went and posed on the pillar anyway when my wife pointed it out! So yes, I am the author who wouldn't have known her own book cover even when she was bloody standing on it.

Brooklyn Graham It's hard to imagine Rachel tumbling over the edge of that! I was to Stanage Edge when I was very young, so I only have a vague memory of it. So fantastic that you were able to visit that very spot. (Love the photos)
Such a brilliant series, Dark Peak, my favorite of your creations, actually. I always hope that someday you might revisit San and Meg, I do miss them.
Patiently awaiting your next book release; always such a treat.

Cari Hunter If you can google a photo of Laddow rocks, those were the ones I actually had in mind when I wrote 'No Good Reason'. The route Sanne runs is one that we've walked loads of times and the rocks there are even steeper and more treacherous than the Stanage ones! The BSB cover artist chose the image used for NGR and managed - by pure luck, I think - to find something absolutely perfect.

I miss San and Meg as well. It's always lovely to see them fondly mentioned on here or on some of the lesfic Facebook groups, and I'm very proud of the series.
