LaurLa | 4959 comments For Erin (again O.O):

Well, I apologize ahead of time if you hated my picks last month that you're stuck with me again ;-) I hope I did you justice last month and do so again this month. I tried to grab things that might interest you as being similar to what's on your Read or To-Read shelves. Please let me know if you need any new picks. Hope you finding something to enjoy!!! Happy Reading :-D

Quiet Misty Mornings:
NEW: Bonded- Nicky Charles
I don't see this series on your Read shelf and you seem to like shifter books, so I hope you give this series a chance. This one also fits the new beginnings rule as it is about a bonding to seal an alliance - all kinds of new beginnings there.

TBR: The General and the Elephant Clock of Al-Jazari - Sarah Black
I don't see the author on your Read shelf, so I hope that means you haven't read her ;-)
Bonded (Law of the Lycans, #1) by Nicky Charles The General and the Elephant Clock of Al-Jazari by Sarah Black

Sunny Days at the Beach:
NEW: Charmed and Dangerous: A Bobbie Faye Novel (aka Bobbie Faye's Very (very, very, very) Bad Day) - Toni McGee Causey
Looking at your Read shelf, I saw that you like Linda Howard. I haven't read her as extensively as you, but I really liked the little mini series she has with Blair Mallory as the heroine - after I read those, I started looking for similar books with similar type heroines and ran across Toni McGee Causey and the Bobby Faye series. I loved it. I hope you give it a chance :-)

TBR: Doe and the Wolf - Eve Langlais
I've read the first of this series, and if I remember from what I've read and heard, these are fairly light and humorous I think anything with a series name of F.U.C. can't be taken too seriously, right?
Charmed and Dangerous A Bobbie Faye Novel by Toni McGee Causey Doe and the Wolf (Furry United Coalition, #5) by Eve Langlais

Long Evenings with Beautiful Sunsets:
NEW: Sugar Creek - Toni Blake
I saw the first in this series on your Read shelf. I wanted to rec the second to you. I liked it better than the first - there is more of an edge to the MCs and their romance but what makes this perfect for the rule is the flashback romance which is very very romantic, both because it's nostalgic and because of the bittersweet ending.

TBR: Eleanor & Park - Rainbow Rowell
Young love, first love is always romantic. I don't read YA so haven't read this one but everyone else seems to love it. Hope you do too!
Sugar Creek (Destiny, #2) by Toni Blake Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell

Stormy Nights:
NEW: Secret- Kindle Alexander
I pretty much exhausted my MM well of knowledge last month for you but you seemed to have liked this author, so I thought I'd give you another rec from her. The blurb sounds very intense and actually made me want to read it I read several reviews because there is the possibility of infidelity and didn't want to rec something that might not work for you. From what I read, there is no emotional cheating. That's as much as I want to say - plus I haven't read the book, so I can't for sure say what actually happens. Let me know if you read this and how you liked it or if the premise just doesn't work for you and I'll give you another pick.

TBR: Archangel's Storm - Nalini Singh
With Storm in the title, I figured it had to fit the bill and from all I've heard, it's an intense series. Plus it does have a mostly black cover.
Secret by Kindle Alexander Archangel's Storm (Guild Hunter, #5) by Nalini Singh

Hey Elke!
Thanks for the picks! Last month someone else recommended And One Last Thing ... so I guess it must mean that I have to pick that one up :) Also, The Dark Side Of Chemistry looks really interesting so hopefully I can get to that one as well. I've been been meaning to read Written in My Own Heart's Blood as the Outlander series is a favorite of mine but want to reread the whole series over before I do (I know...crazy because its so long and going to take me forever!) so maybe this will give me the push to try and do that this month :) I'll let you know how it all goes!

Thanks,

message 110: by Madison (new)

Madison ✨ | 90 comments Hi Raine!

Here are your picks, hopefully you find something you enjoy! :) Let me know if you would like any repicks.

Quiet Misty Mornings:

Sugar Daddy (NEW) - This was picked for me last month and I loved it! The heroine’s life completely changes in the middle of the story.

The Mighty Storm (TBR) - Kind of like ‘new beginnings this one is more about second changes for two friends who are reconnecting after many years. About a rockstar and this one is a really entertaining but angsty book.

Sugar Daddy (Travises, #1) by Lisa Kleypas The Mighty Storm (The Storm, #1) by Samantha Towle

Sunny Days at the Beach:

Summer of Two Wishes (NEW) - I read this one while on vacation so to me, it will always remind me of ‘summer. Overall it would be a light beach read but does have a bit of a heavier topic with the heroine being a veterans widow who gets remarried and her first husband comes back from the dead. I enjoyed reading and thinking what I would do if in the same situation. I also think I should get extra points because the title even has “summer in it and the cover is yellow/orange :)

Exclusively Yours (TBR) - When I think of summer reads this is one of those that always comes to mind. It’s about a family vacation during the summer and reminds me so much of my annual summer trip. A really fun and light book that takes place during the summer and would be a great “beach read.

Summer of Two Wishes (Cedar Springs #1) by Julia London Exclusively Yours (Kowalski Family, #1) by Shannon Stacey

Long Evenings with Beautiful Sunsets:

Paradise (NEW) - When I think of a very romantic storyline, I immediately think of Paradise. This book is one of my favorites and is a longer saga.

Easy (TBR) - This one also has a pretty romantic storyline and is one of my favorite YA/NA books. When I saw it on your TBR list I had to pick it :)

Paradise (Second Opportunities, #1) by Judith McNaught Easy (Contours of the Heart, #1) by Tammara Webber

Stormy Nights:

If I Stay (NEW) - This storyline is intense, not really suspenseful/scary but is intense in the fact that I felt just so emotionally invested throughout the whole book. The heroine is in a car crash where her whole family dies and she is left in a coma. The book a series of flashbacks and her having an almost out-of-body experience watching her loved ones visit her in the hospital leaving her to decide if she will “stay.

Twist Me (TBR) - This is another one that was recommended to me and I loved. It was dark, a bit disturbing (in a good way!) and yet so enjoyable.

If I Stay (If I Stay, #1) by Gayle Forman Twist Me (Twist Me, #1) by Anna Zaires

Thanks for the offer, I really do appreciate it, but my reading time has been (hopefully temporarily) cut back enough recently that I'm probably better off not having any additional options this time around - it would just frustrate me more that I don't have time for them all! =P

Thanks again LaurLa, this is an excellent list! I enjoyed last months pick very much and I have some still on hold at my library, but it doesn't look like I'm going to get them in before the month is over. Nonetheless, I still look forward to reading them when I do get a copy. There are so many here that I really want to get to, but I am thinking Bobbie Faye's Very (very, very, very) Bad Day (Bobbie Faye, #1) by Toni McGee Causey sounds like fun. I loved the first Blair Mallory book, so this sounds perfect. The audiobook was a really fun listen if you enjoy audiobooks. I also just finished another Rainbow Rowell book yesterday, so I may need to give Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell a try. Thanks again, I'm excited to try out a new author.

Elizabeth | 212 comments First I want to say once again to Suzanne for the really great picks, and that I was afraid I wouldn't be able to do this because of three problems, which are:1st problem is on 27th of this month my Apple iPad 64 GB screen got cracked so I had to send it off to get fixed, so that's taking care of, so the 2 problem was how to read my books but think goodness that problem is also taking care of because 2 of my picks Reckless Nights in Rome by C.C. MacKenzie and the The Soul Mate (The Holy Trinity, #1) by Madeline Sheehan are both Apple IBooks but i fixed it by finding them on Barnes & Noble for free so i just re bought them so now i can read them plus The Girl from Yesterday by David L. Dawson on my nook app which is also on my Pandigital erader, but the downside to that is I can only read nook books on it so I still had a 3rd problem which was how to read my kindle picks which are and Manannan Trilogy by Michele McGrath and Somewhere in Time by Barbara Bretton but that problem is taking care as well , because I found and download the Amazon Kindle app on my Windows 8 phone by HTC,that lets you read your kindle books on your Windows phone which is great. So hopefully no more problems will pop up and I can still have a great read.anybody else's last couple of days been as bad as mine has.

You're blowing through the picks! I loved The Bronze Horseman but it eviscerated me so I can understand not wanting to jump into the next book. It's also a hard read. I almost feel bad for picking it but as sad as it is- it's one of my all time favorites. You need some light-hearted nonsense to cleanse the palette!
