Seriously, those few times where we kept filling out goal after goal were usually LATE at night for me. And I kept thinking "Hurry UP I need to sleep!" Then a new one would pop up and it would be like, "Read a book with a wizard." And I'd have to wait again. :P

Annika, going by what I've seen with the other team spreadsheets it doesn't seem like they really have to have a scene or anything. Like the giraffe one, most just have a sentence that mentions seeing a giraffe at the zoo or something.

We could always ask the mods.

Oh. One of the books I'm currently reading mentions a turtle, but it's more of a hypothetical turtle. Haha.

I have one book at home from the library where the writer watches a turtle swim and then he gets a turtle tattoo. Would that count? If so, I can probably start it tomorrow.

The line in the book I'm reading - Authority - says: "Now he could smell the decay of all that plant matter slowly rotting beneath the surface of the swamp, could sense the awkward turtles and stunted fish pushing their way through matted layers."

If that counts, I can try and have it finished by tomorrow. Otherwise, I can start Headhunters on My Doorstep: A True Treasure Island Ghost Story, which mentions an actual turtle.

Lol I'm not sure about hypothetical turtle. I think there has to be a real turtle mentioned somewhere. (I have a book that mentions turtles but there isn't an actual turtle, I don't think). I'll get clarification to be sure.

The second book that you mentioned should be fine though!

For the animal goals...the physical animal should be somewhere in the book, but it doesn't really have to have a scene/be part of the plot. So for example a sign with a turtle in it or a giraffe stuffed animal wouldn't count. But Kate book where he sees a turtle swimming is good. :)

Denise, I have another question about the turtle goal. Does it specifically need to be a turtle or is tortoise ok? (The book I'm currently reading has one)

You'll probably finish before me - I have another book to finish first - but if for some reason it takes you awhile, you know you have a back up. :)

Nah, I should be done in a couple of days at the latest, need that book in another challenge as well, and I'm about 1/3 through it. :)

Me too, it's so nice to know that for almost every goal we have 2-3 people with books that will work! Then I don't feel bad if I don't get through a book as quickly. ;)

As for the Assassin goal, there was an Assassin in A Hunter Like No Other. She had no major part in the book, but she was there in a scene. How much does the character have to be in it for it to work?

Anita, I'll keep that one in mind if the goal pops up again! Minor characters are okay for most of those. I think there are some goals that specify that it needs to be a main character.

I'm adding a tab to the spreadsheet for goalless books, so we'll have basic info for all books listed instead of having to go through all the book links each time (we figure that'll help too in future rounds when we have even more teams to work with, lol). So if you guys come across stuff while reading new books like minor characters who are witches/ghosts etc or animals or words/phrases that have been goals just mention it when you finish the book and we'll add that on there. (Like, when I finish Outlander I'll mark that it has chamomile). That way we'll know which books work more quickly and can get details later if we actually use them. :)

I also found a list containing some of the goals it is possible to get. Good to have so we know a bit more about the details that we have to look for. Added it to the spreadsheet.

Yes, it's the same as Crixus. I guess there are more goals, since our 8 consonants goal isn't there.

Yeah there were something like 300 goals to start I think and more were added before this round lol so there are tons. But they had a lot on there we hadn't seen before so we'll have some ideas for what may come up! :)

Both of those additions to the spreadsheets are going to be very helpful. I also want to say that y'all do a great job updating the spreadsheets.

For turtle, I should hopefully finish rereading Magic Breaks tonight! She goes to visit the witch oracle in it, which is inside a giant tortoise (kinda confusing and complicated- but there's definitley a giant tortoise!).

Ooh, I remember the magic tortoise from another book (and I'm wondering if that's the book Annika was talking about too, since we're both also reading that this week lol!)

Blah, LOL. I don't think we have any for this one but let me know if I'm wrong! I'm working on the extra spreadsheet tab so I'll be checking the covers for the books we haven't used yet.

I did manage to fill in 2 other goals as well using Silje's Matched to a Billionaire and Annika's The Cake. :)
