Annika | 1744 comments Cause that's going to be easy.....

message 452: by Silje (new)

Silje (sikna) | 1395 comments Are you kidding me, eight times??!

message 453: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1744 comments With most books it's difficult to find it 4 times! And to limit to only consonants - couldn't it at least have been the same letter.

message 454: by Anita Reads (new)

Anita Reads | 1677 comments Yeah Es and As might be possible, but a consonant!
The one I found on my current reading list is with 4 t's in it.

Do we have any boons left to use? If we do I think it would be OK to use it for this one.

Unless someone finds something to use of course.

message 455: by Denise (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 1647 comments Anita, we managed to find a finished one with yellow! :D

And yeah, 8 times seems ridiculous. Even a lot of long titles only have the same consonant 4-5 times. I thought maybe I could use Harry Potter (since for me it's Sorcerer's Stone) but even that only has 6! >_<

message 456: by Denise (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 1647 comments Also, NO other team has had that goal yet so no help there. I'll search my shelves but if no one comes up with one we may want to think boon on this one, lol!

message 457: by Nidhi (last edited Aug 26, 2015 09:03AM) (new)

Nidhi Bhatt | 151 comments This goal with consonant one sucks big time! Boon is a good idea.

I don't have any books with that long titles that it may contain 8 consonants. Where do they think of these goals from?

message 458: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1744 comments I'm ok with using a boon, I don't have anything for this one

message 459: by Nidhi (new)

Nidhi Bhatt | 151 comments I just completed reading Geek Girl (Geek Girl, #1) by Holly Smale by Holly Smale having 356 pages. For the book cover with glasses goal of team Gabrielle.

It was 4 star for me. Very nice book.

message 460: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1744 comments Nice going, another goal completed! We needed that one! :D

message 461: by Brittney (new)

Brittney | 655 comments I can look at my five book shelves of unread books when I get home to see if I have anything. :)

message 462: by Michelle (new)

Michelle | 3495 comments Completed

Trophy Hunt by C.J. BoxC.J. Box - 8/25/15

Trophy Hunt (Joe Pickett, #4) by C.J. Box

I see nothing to use it towards right now.

message 463: by Denise (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 1647 comments Read a book where the page numbers add to 4 (i.e. 345 pages = 3+4+5 = 12)

And yeah, the consonant one is awful. I have a couple of books I'll check in a bit - with the subtitles the titles are LONG so one may work for us. We have 3 boons between our teams left so we can definitely use one if I don't find one and no one else chimes in by then, lol.

message 464: by Denise (last edited Aug 26, 2015 09:13AM) (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 1647 comments 4 is kind of hard as well, LOL. What the hell. Why don't we get all the goals for different genres or character is a vampire, etc?!?!?

Basically we need 211 pages, 310, or 400! (Boo, I read a 400 page book and used it for another goal. Figures! ;) )

message 465: by Anita Reads (last edited Aug 26, 2015 09:17AM) (new)

Anita Reads | 1677 comments Darn it. I just thought I might have found a book that could work for the consunant, but highest about is 6 The Boyfriend List: 15 Guys, 11 Shrink Appointments, 4 Ceramic Frogs and Me, Ruby Oliver

Will continue my hunt.

message 467: by Denise (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 1647 comments Oh man! I wish the goal was 6+, lol. That would still be fairly difficult! Sunshine came soooo close! :(

message 468: by Nidhi (last edited Aug 26, 2015 09:32AM) (new)

Nidhi Bhatt | 151 comments OMG! Anita and Sunshine... that's really long title and it still doesn't fit! *huff*

message 469: by Denise (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 1647 comments Oh and for future reference if we get more goals with the publish date - several books on GR (especially older ones) only have a year or maybe a month/year listed for original publication date. And it's impossible to FIND the exact original date, since even the publisher etc will only list that info. In cases like that, the mods decided that we can use the publication date of the version that is actually being read.

Just wanted to give you all a heads up! That may make that goal a little bit easier if/when it comes up again. :)

message 471: by Nidhi (new)

Nidhi Bhatt | 151 comments I had the same problem for Ruby Red (Precious Stone Trilogy, #1) by Kerstin Gier . It just says its published in 2009. There is no first publication date anywhere on net.

Thanks for heads up!

message 472: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1744 comments Silje, I started reading the first one, got about half way and had do dnf it, was really not my type of book, though I know many who loves it.

message 473: by Silje (new)

Silje (sikna) | 1395 comments I found the second one on audio, might be able to fix it.

Also haveTaste of Darkness, it has 400pg according to good reads..

message 474: by Emily (new)

Emily Don't boon the consonant goal. I have a copy of Pretty in Plaid: A Life, a Witch, and a Wardrobe, or, the Wonder Years Before the Condescending, Egomanical, Self-Centered Smart-Ass Phase at home. With the subtitle, I count 8 "n"s. If someone wants to check my math, I can read that one.

message 475: by Denise (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 1647 comments I count 8 N's as well. YAY!

message 476: by Emily (new)

Emily I can make a weekend of it, and read it with Such a Pretty Fat: One Narcissist's Quest to Discover if Her Life Makes Her Ass Look Big, or Why Pie is Not the Answer (which has 10 "s"s, I think, actually), and is 400 pages, so it fits the new page number goal.

message 478: by Nidhi (new)

Nidhi Bhatt | 151 comments Wow Boston Kate... Go ahead! 8 Ns and 10 Ss

message 479: by Delta (new)

Delta (sicname) Finished Go Set a Watchman, 278 pages.

message 480: by Nidhi (new)

Nidhi Bhatt | 151 comments Silje has a book with 400 pages too.

message 481: by Anita Reads (new)

Anita Reads | 1677 comments You guys are awesome. Since the goals seems to be covered for now, I'll just stop my search and getting back to reading.

message 482: by Denise (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 1647 comments Awesome teamwork, everyone! Love how within an hour we went from the consonant goal being too hard, to having several options and multiple people ready to read one. :D

I will get back to reading as well so I can knock out the job goal later today. :)

message 483: by Nidhi (new)

Nidhi Bhatt | 151 comments I agree with Anita and Denise! Our group is great...

message 484: by Emily (new)

Emily Finished:

The Death Cure
The Death Cure (Maze Runner, #3) by James Dashner
Author: James Dashner
Pages: 325
Goal: Read a book that is ranked 501-750 in bestsellers on book depository

message 485: by Denise (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 1647 comments Next up: Read a book with the phrase "An arm and a leg" in a book

message 486: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1744 comments I did a google seach, and I might have it in better when he's bad... now I just have to unpack the book and find where it was in it....

³§³Ü²Ô²õ³ó¾±²Ô±ð✰✰✰ | 313 comments Close again.... I have "an arm and an eye" lol

message 488: by Denise (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 1647 comments I don't have one finished for the new goal and it doesn't look like my current reads have it. I don't have time to go through everyone else's books yet, so please let us know if one of your books works! I'll check on the others in a couple of hours.

message 489: by Delta (new)

Delta (sicname) I only have "arms and legs" Don't think that will work.

message 490: by Denise (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 1647 comments LOL Sunshine, that's too funny. You keep coming sooo close. ;)

Annika, ugh. Of course! It's so nice when Google will give you the page number and everything but that hardly ever happens.

message 491: by Denise (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 1647 comments I can't remember what's all been asked and given the okay by the mods, but basically the phrases can be slightly different from what's listed as long as the meaning is the same. So if anyone has something close like that we can check it!

message 492: by Emily (new)

Emily Annika - was it Better When He's Bad?

I used Amazon's "Look Inside" feature. Much more easy to use (in my opinion) than google books.

"an arm and a leg" is on page 80, according to them. :)

message 493: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1744 comments I found it! :D
Better When He's Bad; page 80: "It had to cost an arm and a leg"

message 494: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1744 comments I can never get the amazon version to work, tried that one too but didn't get a result :(

message 495: by Emily (last edited Aug 26, 2015 11:22AM) (new)

Emily Annika wrote: "I can never get the amazon version to work, tried that one too but didn't get a result :("

Oh. Weird. Well, at least we found it. :) I think we both posted the location at the exact same time, too.

message 496: by Denise (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 1647 comments Yay *goes to update*

Annika, for some reason the Amazon one never wants to work for me either.

message 497: by Denise (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 1647 comments Read a book where a character is a thief, hired assassin or merc

I know we have to have at LEAST one option finished for this one!

message 498: by Silje (last edited Aug 26, 2015 11:27AM) (new)

Silje (sikna) | 1395 comments If services as a vampire hunter works as hired assassin, then Aurora Sky fits. If not, I'm reading Heir of Fire and the MC is an assassin...

message 499: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1744 comments That works :)

message 500: by Denise (last edited Aug 26, 2015 11:29AM) (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 1647 comments Do you guys think vampire hunter counts? If not, Death Masks does for sure. Kincaid is in that one. He's a hired assassin and a merc, lol.
