I'm supposed to feel sorry for him for that?

I am perplexed. Suddenly it's okay to flirt and kiss without any worries? What brought this change about?

The heroine has mellowed, but Hawk is just as stab-worthy as ever.

*gasp* What is this? Is the heroine growing up? Has she reached a turning point and finally realized all the things I've been complaining about? I may very well swoon in shock. ;)

Jesus, the hero is a dick. Apparently just talking to a man means you're flirting and is cause for being browbeaten. Since the heroine sucks, couldn't I have at least gotten a nice hero?

*pinches bridge of nose* None of this makes any sense. Julianne just spent an emo night praying that Hawk didn't know her feelings for him because then he would be aware of how humiliated she felt by his so-called rejection. But if she thinks he wasn't aware of her attraction (which he wasn't) then why is she trying to punish him for keeping her 'dangling' for 4 years? She's completely illogical.

I hope the heroine matures soon. She's coming off as extremely young and emo. And I don't know about the other readers, but I can't get behind her punishing Hawk for "rejecting" her. Uh...he didn't even know you were interested. Just because you've liked him for 4 years doesn't mean you've even tried to show him that. Is he psychic now?

Exactly! If it had been about (view spoiler)

Laura that would have been much more emotional! this was bad, I get that he felt forced into it, but even at 19, he's a grown man. Especially back then.

If this had happened to him at like 14 or 15? I would absolutely see the consequences being more psychological, but jeez, 19? I don't buy it.

Yes, exactly. He was a man by that point. Grow a pair and take responsibility for your actions. Even if you lost a fortune gambling because of peer pressure, it's still your fault.

Laura ooh, the gambling is a good analogy-that's right! if you were 19 and gambled away a ton of money, no one would feel sorry for you because you're an adult.

Laura oh, hey, totally random, but you have a kindle right?
I bought a bunch of kindle books for my iphone, but I'd like to convert them and put them on my nook-can I do that?

Yes, I have a kindle. I would assume you could convert it with Calibre, but I can't swear by it. I am still new to it, myself.

Laura I can't figure out how to download them from my kindle library to my computer

Hmm. I don't know. I haven't run into that issue yet. Let me see if FV (my go to Kindle guru) can shed some light.

By Kindle books, do you mean you purchased from Amazon? If so, they are in .azw format and can't be converted.

Really? Good to know for future reference.

Kindle will work with .prc, mobi, .azw, pdf...and another I think. If your ePub file is not DRM protected, you can convert using Calibre though.

Boo!! That was exactly what I meant. Sigh. Hello reading on the iPhone again

message 16: by AH (new)

AH Isn't there a plugin to Calibre that removes DRM so you can convert the file? I haven't gotten it to work for me, but I've seen it work on other computers.

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

Possibly but I believe it is illegal to strip the DRM and so I've not looked into it. If I'm going to the big house it will be for something really worth while LOL. :)

Cari Quinn FV, you sound JUST like me. LOL

message 19: by AH (new)

AH Legalities aside, if it is for your personal use and yours only it should not be a problem. If you buy a dvd, you can watch it on multiple players. If you buy a book, you can read it in different rooms. If you buy a CD you can listen to it on your computer, in your car, on your ipod. Just saying....
