Charles Blanchard | 28 comments Thank you Minnie for your kind words. Interesting that you mentioned the cover. I created it myself by taking sheet music, staining it with tea to give it that aged archived look and I painted bird footprints before setting the pages on fire to give it even more of a brownish color..

Gerald Pruett | 39 comments I'm not sure where to put this, so I'm putting it here.

When I first started writing several years ago, someone had showed me a book with trivial knowledge, knowledge that I can’t really find when I search for it.

For example, it had every word (words that I never heard of before) that referred to or meant, ‘Devil in it. (Of course it had a lot more trivial knowledge in it.)

It was a nice reference guide. I don’t know what the book is called, but I think it had the word ‘almanac within in the title. I could be wrong about that though.

Does this book sound familiar to anyone? I would like to get my hands on a copy.

Dale Reierson (DaleReierson) | 3 comments Hi my name is Dale Reierson, I have a new novelette on amazon for .99. Check it out and enjoy. It should be on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ as well. Thanks.

There were three days between the crucifixion and the resurrection. A time rarely spoken of and vaguely recorded. Three Days without the Grace of God and The Prince of Demons stood to bear witness, as mankind committed the ultimate atrocity. He watched as his greatest enemy was put to death and plotted vengeance as it enraged him. One’s strength is measured by one’s greatest enemy. Without a worthy enemy what was the point of living? These are the three days of Vengeance brought against the world for the Crucifixion of Christ. Three days when the Children of Chaos ran free, Three days while humanity paid the price, and Three days as The Prince of Demons mourned for his greatest enemy. Three days without Grace

Merrill Heath | 28 comments Thanks, Minnie.

I'm considering writing something I call twitterfiction -- 140 characters, 140 tweets, 1 noir detective story.

For example:
Some people just seem to attract trouble. They don’t go looking for it. It just finds them. That’s the way it was with Holly Jones.

The first time I saw her she was getting beat up by a guy in an alley off 21st street. I felt obliged to come to her rescue. Big mistake.

That little episode cost me 90 days in jail. When I got out she was gone, along with my car and most of my money. But at least she was gone.

Now, four years later, she was back. I was sitting in my office with the shades pulled, nursing a massive hangover when she strolled in.

If I tweet 7 times a day I'll finish it in 20 days. Does this sound like something anyone would want to follow?

Merrill Heath

Nicholas Book One: The Growing Dim Project

Just thought I would post a link to my latest ebook available here on goodreads, nook, and kindle. I've been using the advertising here on goodreads and the clicks are coming through! Anyone have any advice on other places to advertise?

I also have my first book lecture coming up in June at a psychic fair. I'm also looking for any advice on how to approach this.

Thanks a million!

Alex Sinclair I have had a new book released today, which is very exciting. The book is called Five Days Notice Five Days Notice by Alex Sinclair I posted the blurb below.

The global economy has collapsed and third world war has left the planet a dark and deadly place. Having a job is like winning the lottery. It is a rare and cherished thing. Society is split into two classes, the poor and the damned. Only one superstore remains in the city. The seven staff members work long hours for hardly any pay, but they are considered the lucky ones.

River is in love. He is in love with the woman of his dreams. Only she doesn't know it. Ariel lights up his dark and lonely world. She is the reason he wakes up every single morning. Her friendship and company give meaning to his existence, but when job cuts are announced his world is turned upside down. The staff are given five days notice. By the end of the week three members of staff will be fired, but how far is River willing to go to ensure that the love of his life keeps her job?

With uncertainty and doubt fuelling the fires of fear each member of staff sets out on a dangerous path of deception. The flesh of the weak is food for the strong. It is a dog eat dog world. Friends become enemies. Lovers become deceivers. You can trust no one. You can rely on no one. You must do what needs to be done to make sure you survive. You must steal, you must betray and you must kill. Betrayal, deception and corruption have never looked so sexy.

Ian Kharitonov (iankharitonov) | 9 comments My action/adventure thriller, The Russian Renaissance has won the Grandmaster Award which I received from the Clive Cussler Society.

Here's the blurb:

Constantine can no longer hide in Europe. As he discovers a century-old secret, he must flee back to Moscow, chased by assassins.
Only one man can save him. Eugene Sokolov: an officer in the world's most elite rescue unit, a martial arts legend and Constantine's brother.
They face an enemy unlike any other. In a game run by a KGB spymaster, the fate of Russia will depend on their survival.

It's a Jason Bourne meets Gorky Park type of story. If you're a fan of good action yarns, try the sample and maybe you'll like it well enough! International conspiracies, terrorists, historical mysteries, explosions and exotic locations aplenty.

Thank you for your attention :D

message 482: by Alex (new)

Alex Sinclair Thank you Rick. I have written a few novels and have several coming out in 2012, but Five Days Notice is my favourite. It is such a simple concept that people face in everyday life, but when placed in such extreme conditions it turns into a really exciting suspense novel.

Thousands of readers followed my Quest to England and Ireland in my first self help memoir Questing Marilyn. I discover who I can be when I am free to be Me. Readers can learn about their own beliefs as they face my challenges with me.

Questing Marilyn In Search of My Holy Grail--Personal Growth Through Travel (Questing) by Marilyn Barnicke Belleghem

Readers sympathized with me when I returned to discover my husband had been romancing a woman who had been my friend. I confront, separate, reconcile and rejoice as I celebrate my 25th wedding anniversary with a trip to France.

Questing France Deepening the Search for My Holy Grail, Personal Growth Through Travel by Marilyn Barnicke Belleghem

Discovering further betrayal Questing Home recounts how lies and legal bullying tactics make the creating of a separation agreement and divorce a life threatening experience. Many life skills and tactics shared in my story have helped my readers, clients and audience members cope with power and control issues in their lives. Parenting skills are shared as well as travel adventures.

Questing Home A Safe Place for My Holy Grail Personal Growth Through Travel by Marilyn Barnicke Belleghem

Questing Confidence is my next book. I am in the process of approving the cover. This new self help memoir shares experiences of dating at mid life and many solo travel experiences. More information soon.

Stacy Juba | 5 comments Right now, I have two mystery novels available, a free mystery short story, and two children's picture books.

Twenty-Five Years Ago Today - an obit writer stumbles across a 25-year-old murder on the microfilm.

Sink or Swim - A reality game show contestant attracts a stalker after returning to her normal life.

Laundry Day - How embarrassing is it to find lingerie all over your neighbor's bathroom? It's even worse when she's murdered with her own fishnet stocking. Available as a free download at and includes sample chapters of the above books.

The Flag Keeper - picture book that teaches children about U.S. flag etiquette through a fiction story about a bear family, flag facts and discussion questions.

Victoria Rose and the Big Bad Noise - picture book about a bear that uses her imagination to overcome her fear of household noises like the blender.
