Jeff Horton | 85 comments Hi Everyone.

I'm pleased to announce that my apocalyptic novel, The Last Prophet, is now in publication! The cover is done, the trailer is done, and the novel is already in editing. There is no release date as of yet, but expect it to be out by sometime during the Summer of 2011. Please see the back cover blurb below:

Back Cover Blurb for The Last Prophet:

Would you believe it if someone told you that you were one of the last two prophets mentioned in the book of Revelation?

It is the End of Days. The power of the Antichrist and his grip on humanity grows stronger with each passing day, enabling him to deceive the world and entice humanity into joining him in his corruption, and in his eternal punishment. With the help of the False Prophet, the Beast persuades many to fall down and worship him, also forcing them to take his mark.

When someone tells John March that he has been chosen by God to become the last of the two prophets mentioned in the book of Revelation, he doesn’t believe it. After a visitation by an angel followed by a miraculous sign however, he becomes convinced that it is true and decides to embrace his calling, despite learning that doing so will lead to his untimely death. March begins his mission by proclaiming God's message: that the End of Days is at hand, to beware the growing power and influence of the Beast, and to know that the Second Coming of Jesus Christ is imminent.

Supernatural disasters, including a worldwide drought, rivers of blood, massive earthquakes, and a devastating asteroid, testify that the end of the world is at hand.

Join John March on his journey to becoming, The Last Prophet.

Family Ties by Ottilie Weber
Family Ties (YA historical fiction-ish)
Abby was raised with not nursery rhythms by Mother Goose, Fairy Tales, or Asepses Fables, but narratives of her Great Grandmother, Emma. Emma has the dream life that got past down to the family as a story or so Abby thought. During one of the hottest summers in a long time in New Jersey Abby and her best friend Cory are working at a restaurant in town while their peers go to the beach to have fun. All the two do is work and Abby keeps thinking she rather be doing something bigger then her town and be out of the sight of her overprotective family. Abby learns after she is kidnapped that she has to be careful for what she wishes for, because it might come in a form she may not be expecting

I've had some great responses to my books (some not). But for the most part people seem to be enjoying them. Like all new authors, the trick is letting people know you (and the books) exist. So here is another stab at saying "look at me"...wait no.... here are my books. Take a look and watch the promo videos. It could be fun :)

Timothy Pilgrim (oldgeezer) | 145 comments Oy!! who's hacking my 'puter and passing on the plot of the follow up to 'The Day the Ravens Died' to the 'powers that be'. What started as a fictional tale is fast becoming historical as it is being overtaken by real events!! Guess I'll have to learn to type/write a lot faster.
Or there again, think up a better scenario?
All the best Paul Rix [oldgeezer]

message 424: by Ottilie (new)

Ottilie (ottilie_weber) Hey Timothy! I feel like if you twist any story it is like another book. It is the wording and the characters that truly make a story different and draw people in!

message 425: by Timothy (new)

Timothy Pilgrim (oldgeezer) | 145 comments Hi Ottilie,
good to 'meet' you again.
My problem at the moment is a bit different! What is happening in Libya, Syria, Yemen and some Gulf States is just too darned close to a lot I've written, it is quite frankly a little 'spooky'. Knowing your tastes in books the similarities should suit your themes, had you read my new one first!the spooky bit anyway.
All the very best Paul Rix [oldgeezer]
P.S some of you check out Ottilie's ebook and tell me what I've missed!
I did notice you've got published, but confess I've been too busy to follow it up yet. I will find the time soon, I promise to check it out. Well done little lady for doing it.!

message 426: by Ottilie (new)

Ottilie (ottilie_weber) Hey Timothy!
Don't take offence I haven't really read for months, I will be able to read again in June. That is a little spooky, quickly write the end maybe your ending will mold the future decisions. Sorry if that came out weirder then I thought it would. haha don't worry about it, I can competely understand being busy and not being able to read for fun! Thank you!!

message 427: by Timothy (new)

Timothy Pilgrim (oldgeezer) | 145 comments Hi Ottilie,
me! take offence!! highly unlikely, especially from a G.R friend. I'm not sure about writing the ending as I currently have it planned. It would be more than a little bad!!for a great many of us. Time for a rethink methinks, or at least catch the 'hacker'.
Here's something really weird! As well as my writing and all the other bits and pieces I'm involved with . I am currently typing up masses of poetry for one of the loveliest little old ladies I have ever met. She hasn't got a typewriter never mind a computer and she would like a book of her poems to give to all her family. She's just so sweet I had to help her even though I don't like poetry!Luckily I can read her writing.
Still, it keeps me of the streets!
All the best Paul Rix [oldgeezer]

message 428: by Ottilie (new)

Ottilie (ottilie_weber) Hey Timothy,
Haha okay that's good! Haha hacker? This should be interesting! Aw that's seriously so sweet!! I don't care for poetry either, but that is really sweet of her! Haha good because you and your trouble making skills on the streets can lead to big problems!
~Ottilie

message 429: by Timothy (new)

Timothy Pilgrim (oldgeezer) | 145 comments Hi Ottilie,
Well, I just felt I had to help Jean, I remember when I first got started, how lost I felt. Someone helped me a lot, so why not. Pay back time.
As for trouble on the streets! I live in one of the most rural areas of England, 20 miles between little towns is normal, and yet there are still problems.
Twice in the last five years I've nearly been arrested for 'taking out' muggers. Two had a go at me a few years back when I was useing a cash machine at the biggest super market for fifty miles, they ended up in hospital and I nearly got nicked by a 'baby cop' Luckily an older cop turned up and common sense prevailed.
Then last year in our local little market town some knife wielding idiot high on heaven knows what robbed an old age pensioner and ran towards me, chased by a very unfit community policeman.
It was too easy, trip, oops, oh dear, is the pavement hard! I held him until a proper copper arrived. He was wanted for all sorts of things and got eight months. It saved the police looking for him, the old dear got her hand bag and money back , what's the problem?
A few weeks later the local inspector had a right go at me about it, he was one of these fast track graduate cops, destined for high office oh spare us!
He said I could have been hurt! No I couldn't. I could have hurt the mugger, Yes I could!
Twit! I'm not very big, although bigger than the police inspector, who true to his type have a chip on their shoulder, I can't help it if he is only 5'5" against my 5'10". I also have grey hair, no teeth [of my own] and I limp! so yobs don't see me as a threat. I used to be an unarmed combat instructor in the army[among other things] teaching/training other instructors, so your average yob is hardly intimidating.
Any way, enough about me getting into trouble, I'll be in serious strife if I don't get to bed, it's nice sitting here chatting to pretty young blonde ladies but that won't help me get up in the morning! and there are lots of jobs on the agenda for tomorrow, [later today]
All the best Paul Rix [oldgeezer]

Ottilie (ottilie_weber) Hey Timothy,
Yay good karma! I like helping others in any form I can, and with tis publishign stuff I feel like we are all trying to figure it out together. Haha yeah wow you live an interesting life and it sounds like you are making friends left and right with the police over there! Yeah I should be going to bed soon myself I have a long day tomorrow, not looking forward to it. Good luck!

Timothy Pilgrim (oldgeezer) | 145 comments Hi Ottilie,
I hope you had a good day. I got a surprise, I have been invited to become a TEACHER! at nearly 63. The council have offered me a place on an adult teaching course so I can teach gardening to adults. It seems as though the current scheme isn't helping people grow their own veg. as was hoped. Should be interesting!.
I noticed you marked 'The Day the Ravens Died' to read, I hope you enjoy it. The cheapest/easiest way is probably Amazon for the book. If you want the ebook then direct from Authors OnLine would be best. We are still having a few issues with Amazon your side of the pond regarding ebooks and getting payment!
I will have to go as I still have a bit of proof reading to finish, thank heavens it's not a full edit! It has come back from a 'professional' editor, sure it reads a lot better now it's got typos in it and it's due at the printers tomorrow! If it had been mine I would have gone nuts! Still onwards and upwards. I'll check in again before I go to bed at some ungodly hour.
All the best Paul Rix [oldgeezer]

Merrill Heath | 28 comments Hey, everyone. I have two books available through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Smashwords.

Consequences is a novel available in print and various ebook formats.

Bearing False Witness is the first book in the Alec Stover Mystery series. Access Denied, book 2 in the series, will be available later this spring. Better Off Dead, book 3, will be available in the fall.

All of the Alec Stover mysteries are novellas. They will be published individually as ebooks. I plan to release a collection of the first 3 books in print at some point after their ebook publication.

I currently have ideas for 8 Alec Stover mysteries...and the list keeps growing. I just need to learn to write faster!

In this expansive examination of Man's nature, the author takes us into a world where the government controls everything, war is a constant reality, and no one can be trusted. Throughout it all, one family clings to their values while standing fast against the forces that would see them torn apart.

Ranging in time from the distant past to the near future, FEAR! takes the reader on a journey to the center of Hell.
The book will be submitted to Midwest Book Review. It is available in ebook and print formats directly from Steven's web site,

Ann Nyland (dranyland) | 3 comments Hi,
I'm a non-fiction author, and this is my first novel.
Hedgeland, an urban fantasy of time travel. Dr April Neuland, a Professor of Ancient Languages turned non-fiction writer, has been plagued by dreams all her life, dreams of her past life in the Otherworld. Meanwhile, in a parallel dimension of April's past and Caridwen's future, Worthing, a Future History Professor, has allied with the Military to access Future Internet communications and use new technology to influence April to write an ebook novel revealing where she, in her past life as Caridwen, hid the Kiste, a device to travel through time and space. Hedgeland weaves all three time/space frames: Caridwen, Worthing, and April. Hedgeland is the first in the Hedgecraft Sequence, but is a fully self contained novel with no cliff hangers.

Charles Blanchard | 28 comments A tale of love and loss, of passion and tragedy, and of the triumph of the spirit awaits readers in the new release, Mourning Doves After The Fire.

Mt. Vernon, NY Author Charles D. Blanchard marks his debut in the publishing world as he presents Mourning Doves After The Fire. Set against the backdrop of 1910 Pennsylvania, this new novel is a story of love and loss, of passion and tragedy, and of the triumph of the spirit in both man and beast.

Twenty-eight-year-old Abby Whitman is a secretary with an interest in classical music. She pays a visit to Dr. Raymond Fletcher, whom she secretly fancies, and he gives her the unfortunate news that she has cancer. Devoted to help Abby, Dr. Fletcher seeks the aid of a renowned doctor who has apparently discovered an experimental treatment that has proven to eradicate cancer. Abby now becomes under Dr. Fletcher’s personal care and an appreciation for each other develops while her prognosis remains uncertain. During a camping trip, Abby befriends a young girl, named Madison, a talented pianist who shares with Abby an interest in classical music. This brief friendship will provide a dramatic change in Abby’s life.

At 211 pages, the novel moves quickly and there are many interesting characters including Abby’s neighbors Giny Kramer and her two sons, Michael and Eric; Henry Corrigan, the son of Abby’s employer; Mrs. Haversham, a former school teacher; Ella Horn, a juvenile housebreaker and Zachariah, her grandfather; and finally the tragic figure of Ivanhoe Miller.

The story also contains a fabled subplot involving a widowed mourning dove and her bird neighbors who nest in the large oak tree near Abby’s house. As the human story develops, so does the challenge and resolve of the birds as their own existence is threatened. The birds serve as a witness to the human story around them as well as their own.

Poignant, gripping, and heartrending, Mourning Doves After The Fire will definitely touch the readers hearts. Mourning Doves After The Fire by Charles D. Blanchard
