The book signings went quite well, Carrie was the star attraction at the Kent 'do' you would do well to check out 'The Life in the Woods with Joni-Pip' It has all the ingredients of a best seller! Talking of ingredients, any of you thinking of, or already growing your own fruit and veggies, check out 'Beyond the Potting Shed', The tips in there will work just about anywhere, giving you better crops amd saving you some money!

I'd better go as the 'humming box' has been on strike all week, I may have got it working again, but for how long??
All the best Paul Rix [oldgeezer:]

to live on the wind by Nanette Rayman-Rivera is one of the most affecting memoirs I have read in many many years. One can only marvel at MS. Rayman-Rivera's inner strength as she survives all the horrible slings and arrows life can fling at us. The skill of this writer to involve the reader so deeply into her inner thoughts and struggles is nothing short of remarkable- and ultimately uplifting. Ms. Rayman-Rivera is a memoirist of the first class- open about her vulnerabilities and losses- yet never "sappy" - always so very real. I cannot recommend this book more- for those who aredealing with life issues, losses and unfulfilled dreams- this memoir is the PERFECT TONIC- for those who simply appreciate brilliant writing- to live on the wind- should be at the very top of your list of books to buy.

I just discovered that Ken Follett's new historical novel Fall of Giants, and the rest of his trilogy have a similar concept to my Muskoka Novels - i.e. to take interesting characters and their descendants through significant 20th century world events, beginning in WW1! So I'm in good company, even though my work is from a Canadian perspective. : )

I hope you all will check it out and leave a review or two and if you REALLY like it maybe you could recommend it to your friends. ;)

Oh did I mention the best part? It's a FREE online download at

Andrew Kaufman (andrewekaufman) | 10 comments I've been a new member for a few weeks after Rick was kind enough to find and invite me, and I've been enjoying all the posts. I thought I'd say hi and use this space as an opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Drew and I'm a lover of suspense thrillers--that is to say, I both read and write them (so if anyone has some good recommendations, please feel free to pass them on). My own book, While the Savage Sleeps, is a forensic paranormal thriller which takes place in the fictitious town of Faith, New Mexico, where strange things are happening. People are disappearing and for others it's far worse. It's all up to Cameron Dawson to figure out why. But with his own troubled past haunting him, he finds himself caught in a battle on two fronts, and both may end up destroying him. While the Savage Sleeps broke out onto four of Amazon's bestsellers lists shortly after its release on Kindle, taking the #1 spot on two of them and #3 on their Movers and Shakers list. It's now also available in trade paperback as well as other e-book formats. If you'd like to learn more, you can find it here on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ. Just click on the cover photo below.

I look forward to getting to know you all....soon!

Andrew Kaufman goes the extra mile when it comes to authenticity, and just when you think you have seen it all in crime fiction, a guy like this comes along and knocks your socks off.

Laura Rittenhouse | 4 comments Rick, thanks for the opportunity to plug our work.

My book Starting Over came out in late 2009. It's a novel based loosely on my great-grandmother's life story. She migrated as a young woman in 1903 from Germany to the US.

The story has parallel plot lines, the second being based around a woman who migrates from the US to Australia as a young woman in the late 1970s.

The book investigates the real differences in the lives of women/immigrants/people in general in two very different time periods.

If you are interested in more about my book or about me, you can visit my website: .
